Our studio story

Bold ideas become better when they meet a real table.

BoldSpirit Studio began as a small circle of designers comparing handwritten prototypes after local game nights. We built our teaching practice around the questions that helped those prototypes improve: What is the player deciding? What evidence do we have? Which feeling deserves more room?

Today, our courses help emerging and experienced designers build a steady process from first concept to confident playtest.

Our mission

To make board game design education practical, humane, and specific enough to use at the table that same day.

Evidence over ego

We treat playtests as conversations with the design, not verdicts on the designer.

Clarity creates welcome

Readable rules and intentional access choices help more people join the experience.

Small iterations count

A focused change, tested well, is more valuable than a grand rewrite without evidence.

Designer’s prompt

Every great rule set begins with one honest question asked at the table. Write yours down before the next playtest.
